When should I use this instead of the MRR (Current) filter?

This filter is generally more useful than the MRR (Current) filter when filtering any sort of time-series report. MRR (current) will generally exclude all churned subscribers, this makes it not particularly useful when used with a chart (but often more useful for filtering customer lists).

MRR (Current, or at time of cancellation) on the other hand does include churned subscribers, and therefore is a useful filter for understanding trends over time.
